There’s a significant leap in the inner journey when you realise that everything in life is better when you’re present to it. That your full presence makes life extraordinarily richer.
So –
You embark on a quest to be more and more present, more and more alive to the moment. To give more to your life by showing up fully to it.
And this is where the next step comes.
At the heart of this experience is the belief, “I am fully creating my life” –
Yet the more you explore being present, the more you will find that you are NOT the creator of the Good in your life.
Of course – you choose to show up, you choose to nourish all Doing with your Being, but you will find that you don’t, you can’t, create Quality.
Everything Good: creativity, inspiration, wisdom, virtue, character … true potential, in other words, comes when you get out of the way.
You need think so little about being truly Good – it comes through you.
When you drop expectations, plans, demands, insistence, doubt, fear and control, when you fill yourself up with Being and presence … then, and only then, can Quality can shine forth.
You are not the author of Greatness.
You are the mid-wife; you create the circumstances so that Greatness can be born.
Greatness is not by you, it’s through you.
Does that make sense?
This is tough on the Ego – it wants to claim ownership for itself as the source of all that is Good, it wants to control the process.
But it’s not, and it can’t. Greatness fades as soon as you try and make it yours, returning only when you get empty once again.
Therefore –
Harness the discipline and exercise your choice to show up, fully present, but recognise that Quality is best served when you can let it come through you, unimpeded.
It’s truly magic when the time is right and everything flows, it really is. In my life, and talking with others, it’s clear that it is the kind of experience that changes lives.
Not only is it supremely useful, not matter what you are doing, it’s a real eye opener to the true nature of our lives.
You have an increasing insight into who actually is in control of your life.
So –
If you want more magic, if you want more Quality in life, the inner journey might be the most important thing you commit to. Not only in terms of discovery of your Self, but so you can make a true difference in the world.
Prioritise being present.
Get here. Surrender control. Explore your relationship with Being. Act, do, nourish every single moment with presence.
Keep going, create more Good.
