"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

And a happy New Year to you.
Hope you’re styling your way into 2025.
By the time you read this, I’ll be out in New Zealand catching up with my family out here. What with lockdown and Zachary coming along, it’s been 6 years since I’ve been back.
People often ask me if I miss “home”. I don’t. I love being out there, it feels very familiar.
But at the same time, I think my inner practice has meant that home feels wherever I am.
Don’t get me wrong – I love a base, I love having a cupboard to put my stuff (and as I stay put and accumulate stuff, a garage and a loft) –
Yet a true sense of a place of belonging, a sanctuary and a place to stand tall (as the Maori put it), lies within.
Since it’s within, I’m never apart from it. It can’t be taken away.
People often write to me about the uncertainties of the world and of life. It’s true, but it’s always been true. Life has always changed. Change is the true constant, so it has been said.
Again, the presence within you never changes — and that makes navigating life and all its complexities so much simpler.
So much surer too. People and things may come and go, but you can’t lose your Self.
Whatever you do in 2025, whatever you aim for, whatever happens for you, make finding and being the presence within a priority.
It’s a grand investment of your time and energy, and it’ll make playing this whole game so much easier, more effective, and enjoyable.
So have a blast, and let me know how I can help.
Go well,
Arjuna
PS. If you’re looking for some tools and guidance on how to find and be that more, I’ll be doing a few things in 2025. Let me get back and I’ll tell you all about it.
