Compassion – part 1

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”

— Albert Schweitzer

“Treat people as if they are what they could be, and they will become what they are capable of being”

— Goethe

What can you do to make the greatest impact on the people around you? How can you be a lighthouse so others can find their way?

Your presence speaks louder than any word or action. When you are solid and stable in stillness, when you are content with this moment exactly as it is, when you are full of praise, gratitude and love, when you perceive what is good and see the truth of a person . . . ahh, now that speaks directly to the heart.

Perhaps being compassionate is this simple, choosing for the stillest part of the stillness. Perhaps compassion is doing or saying something. All I know is that there is no rule book on how to help others. But devote your life to truth, be still now and you will be shown.

Whatever making a difference to the world is to you, make it your absolute priority this week.
