Be Content With What You Have – Part 1

“Be content with what you have,

Rejoice in the way things are.

When you realise there is nothing lacking,

the whole world belongs to you.”

Lao Tzu

“At some point you gotta let go, and sit still, and allow contentment to come to you.”

Elizabeth Gilbert

The mind can never be content.

It is never ever happy with what you have. Its whole foundation is the idea that "something is wrong" - either with your life, your body, your connection to your star word, your connection to the rest of humanity, with everything.

It's the source of a lot of dissatisfaction and stress, simply because people don't see it happening.

But if you refuse to play in the mind's world, if you are content and not interested in what is wrong or missing, it won't have a grip on you: The end of suffering.

So: Your homework is to see where your mind wants to have something else. Where what you have now isn't enough.

Instead, you're going to play with letting this moment be enough. Ignore the mind and choose to be content with what you do have, whatever that may be.
